Navigator of the Seas Cruise Ships

When you compare the total tonnage of the ship to the number of passengers, the Navigator of the Seas has a space ratio of 41. Depending on the ship, this number can range from 30 to 52 (with a bigger number meaning more space per person) so this ship's space-to-person ratio is about average. Additional amenities include Complimentary 24-hour Room-Service, Supervised Youth program, Internet/WiFi Access, Laundry. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices. Get glammed up in a snap at the blow dry bar — it’s To Dry For®.

Staterooms

The Lime & Coconut is a tropical-themed bar that spans three decks, offering fantastic views of the pool deck and entire ship. The bar offers comfy lounge chairs and tables and is a popular spot to watch sailaway. Located right next to The Lime & Coconut is the pool band, giving an upbeat and tropical vibe to the venue. And the amped up Navigator of the Seas® is overflowing with new onboard activities to thrill every member of the family. Fuel friendly competition with a game of glow-in-the-dark laser tag, put your teamwork to the test on a new Royal Escape Room challenge or tackle record-breaking thrills like the longest waterslide at sea.

We take you through every aspect of our sailing, from getting to the port to debarking the ship. See the schedule of events, menus, what excursions we did, and what we really thought about the ship. During drydock 2019 (January-February) on Navigator OTS was installed The Perfect Storm (dual-racing waterslide complex) which is positioned aft on Deck 13 (between the FlowRider and the Sports Court).

More Royal Caribbean

The staff was great and the food was for the most part phenomenal. I think the only thing lacking was more dining options during the daytime on the pool deck. There was enough to do onboard, from water slides to mini-golf, the resort-style pool deck, ice skating, rock walls, the sports court, and, of course, the entertainment. Navigator of the Seas has capacity for 3,990 passengers and, from 2002 to 2005, was the world’s largest cruise ship. She has fifteen decks filled with pools, waterslides, bars, diverse dining options, and activities for all ages.

THRILLS FROM LOS ANGELES

The amped Navigator of the Seas® delivers a maxed out adventure in just a few short days. Take on record breaking thrills, like the longest waterslide at sea. Swap going out for going all out with next level nightlife and new dining for every craving.

The staff from the waiters, to entertainment, to kids club to the pool staff was just there to make sure you had a great time. The first and 3rd night had an Ice Skating show which is the best show on the ship by far. There was also a comedian, a broadway style production and several of the pubs on the promenade have live music including the Bamboo Room which was a very lively venue. Our kids loved the experience so much they asked to have it for lunch on our day at sea. Unlimited dining plans receive one appetizer two entrees and one dessert per sitting.

In addition, junior suites have a full bath tub, upgraded bathroom amenities, and offer double Crown and Anchor Society points. As a junior suite and not a regular suite, though, some benefits differ. For example, junior suites do not include access to the suite lounge or complimentary room service. Next to the main pool deck is the Solarium, the adults only pool area onboard. The Solarium on Navigator of the Seas is not completely indoors, but has a combination of covered and uncovered areas.

The most recent “Royal Amplified” dry dock occurred in 2019, when the ship was dry docked in the Bahamas, receiving renovations to the tune of $115 million as part of Royal Caribbean’s Amplification initiative. As a quick overview, expect a ship that’s on the modest side, size-wise, serving a maximum near-4,000 passengers, but with double occupancy closer to 3,000 people. We all need a break from routine every now and then, and a weekend escape is the perfect way to relax and recharge or chase thrills with your friends and family.

Located in the Royal Theater, this production takes a look at the journey of a Showgirl throughout time through choreography, music, and elaborate costumes and set design. Navigator of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbean’s amplified ships, and is currently sailing out of Los Angeles to visit destinations in Baja California and along the Mexican Riviera. Royal Caribbean uses dynamic pricing, which means the pricing for many things will vary per sailing. The daily gratuities and tip are consistent across the fleet, but the pricing for the drink package, internet, and excursions will change. The only way to know your price is to consult the Royal Caribbean cruise planner once you're booked. The table below will help you understand what you might spend onboard a Royal Caribbean ship.

Hangouts get a a serious upgrade onboard Navigator of the Seas®, with redesigned spaces for kids and teens too. Like a reworked Adventure Ocean® with plenty of space for free play fun, and a reimagined Living Room for teens with a backyard hideaway. Sailing from Los Angeles, the Amplified Navigator of the Seas® is bringing adventure back to the west coast for the first time in over a decade. Whether you choose to level up your weekend or spend a full week exploring the Mexican Riviera, you’re in for a California bold rush.

The Navigator of the Seas capacity is 3,990 passengers, which means that you’ll be sharing space with tons of other people. However, foot traffic is generally smooth thanks to the ship’s smart layout and – more often than not – efficient elevators. Just try to avoid the Royal Promenade when there are sales and promotions in the shops, as there tend to be lines. In regard to embarkation, though, this means that you do not have to battle traffic from other ships. If you have sailed from Miami at any point in 2023, you know the frustration of arriving and sitting in traffic or waiting for an Uber to arrive on disembarkation day. When I got to the port in San Pedro, it was easy for my Lyft driver to pull right up to the terminal building.

The line added Sabor - a Mexican restaurant, and Izumi Japanese Cuisine - Asian-fusion eatery. The Italian Portofino was replaced with a new family-style option called Giovanni's Table. Longtime Royal Caribbean's steakhouse Chops Grille features a revamped menu including premium steak options. The 3-level main dining room was consolidated under one name, the Sapphire and redesigned - now decorated in golds and whites, with a grand staircase, dark carpeting, white linens, and a dramatic chandelier.

In the back of the Sports Court, you will find the FlowRider Surf Simulator. Guests can try their skills at boogie boarding and surfing as rushing water shoots out from the FlowRider. The signature theater production on Navigator of the Seas is Showgirl!
